Ancient Unending Melody
A chandelier of silver dangles from the ceiling illuminated by moonlight peeking through the windows. In the center of the ballroom a couple moves in an eternal dance, crowds watching them, as though the pair is the life of the party. A butler stands in the entryway welcoming players to his Lord's castle. A dark wooden piano sits in the corner, keys being played on their own like magic. The wooden chair empty. Only a trained eye can see. The ballroom is full of ghosts.
And one who can see the ghosts may also notice the portraits covering the walls seem to move. Dragons breathing fire, swordsman dueling, even an atomic bomb going off. Thousands of living tapestries depicting entire worlds within the cosmos. Worlds a true believer could visit.

A click can be heard as Slaughter's pink heel touches down on the gleaming hardwood floor. Her garb is altered this evening, appropriate for the occasion. Her usual pink dress is floorlength, with added layers, ribbons, and frills.
The ballroom is entirely empty, save the NPC butler and infrequent apparition that appears. Maybe she would see the blind girl. The one they told her regained her sight when she entered [The World] and as a result wished to become a permanent part of it.
"There's so many other things you should be doing right now," she says out loud to no one. But the truth was that she enjoyed being there. And the way that it made her feel. She too could have so many things in this world which were impossible in the other; she knew the coding system so well. She gave herself this pretty dress, and this pretty face... "Now if only..."
His visage appeared so distant in her thoughts. Why wouldn't it just fade away?
[The World] had lost its popularity in the preceding years. It was replaced by other, newer games. But those newer games didn't carry the same mystique. Slaughter had heard of literal miracles happening here. What other game shared its mystique?
