Beware! Players gating into this field will be greeted with a city landscape. It is not a beautiful place, the walls are crusted with dirt – maybe even blood. The signs above shops are now hard to distinguish, the paint of the text chipped. There are few sources of light, the most prominent being the moon that appears to be on its way of crushing the city. Some light also escapes the buildings, flickering signs, but the yellow hue of the area is washed out by the mystical blue of the moon. Upon gating in, even the player's flesh will have a blue shade to it – if wearing white, the player will glow. The entry to the place is located in a dark, small alleyway. A few feet away, the concrete is torn apart to reveal the same light that the moon casts. There is no background music, no sign of life, just the lone howl of the wind. Written in graffiti there is an arrow that points north.
Does the arrow point to the center of the city? To a dead end? To a shop? A house? Perhaps the arrow is leading a player to their demise.
Do not trust the light of the moon, sometimes the clouds will eat all the light. Players will be left in darkness. With everything so blue, will a player's mind play tricks?
[ gm note: there are no stats here, just use your judgment as I will with mine. If you want to use your stats, go ahead and keep track of them – either privately or in the quest. After every post I will be posting summaries/bulletins of what I just wrote, to clarify the events. It's there to cease confusion. Have fun! ]

What... is this area? How did I even get here? ...Simple questions, simple questions... those kind of questions will only get you killed... It's time to go faster, and deeper into the matter. Well, there's no need to rush. If we could find a nice place to stop and breathe for a while, oh that would be grand. Would be...
The area's shade seems to be... tampered with. As if it was a sort of ghastly blacklight, Patchouli's robes have altered colors from the normal purple white to a glowing lavender-blue. Her pale complexion and cold gaze has been lit, and she herself looked like a sort of... well, no one KNOWS what a true angel is, but for a game, this is about as damn close to an angel anyone can get to. It seems to be due to a certain CELESTIAL BODY'S influence...
The Moon, since ancient days, the moon has been considered as important as the Sun. Indeed, the moon is the reason why the Earth has a stable ocean, a stable environment, and the moon's origin is what altered our world's fate, to one of a sociable world. However... here... it seems as if the Moon wants to destroy the earth, slowly falling to an inevitable collision, reversing the blessing it gave to its greater planet millions of years ago...
...
What a cliched and inaccurate fate. The moon is moving away from the Earth, it is abandoning it, not attacking it... it's rather foolish to think of the moon being of any real importance. It's just a rock... but then again, this is a game, and symbolism is the greatest weapon here... perhaps this Moon will be important...
Closer compared to the moon, there are two things that are of specific... well, they just stand out compared to the others. An arrow, and a tear in the normal road. Both glow the same color as the moon. One leads down a certain path, while the other... is just there... For some reason, Patchouli was more attracted to the glowing... crater in the ground...
Do not trust the light of the moon, sometimes the clouds will eat all the light. Players will be left in darkness. With everything so blue, will a player's mind play tricks?

This was a rather melancholic place, wasn’t it? She looked up into the sky, saddened by the sight of it being passionately torn by a moon desperate to crash into them. Was it out of spite or unbearable sadness though? Quietly, she thought How tragic, this world is. This feeling of standing at the world’s end, it was a repetitive pattern in [The World]. There were no warm welcomes in this game, it seemed. Or maybe she was simply very unfortunate. The thought would sometimes make her feel very lonely, as if her misfortune was any more tragic than the next person. But then she would remember that even in tragedy she was simply one of a thousand.
She sighed, annoyed with herself. She blamed the field for the sudden gloom. Uelle had gated in only a little while ago, but already she was fitting in almost perfectly with the mood. An ethereal, bluish glow had taken possession of her pale skin and garments the moment she arrived. An alleyway swiftly loomed over her next, casting long shadows that were broken by a strange gap in the ground. The first thought to enter her head was that it looked like an unnatural tear, perhaps a rip in the data? Those weren’t too uncommon lately, after all. But after seeing the rest of the city from between the alley walls, she thought it looked rather fitting instead—even the light that oozed from its edges. Uelle took her time stepping out of the alley, looking edgy, yet confident about something. She had noticed the arrow on the wall. North, it pointed. So north she should go, right? Her body angled north almost mechanically, but she didn’t move just yet. Someone…There was someone nearby. “…Hello?” Her voice sounded brittle besides the thick silence of the abandoned city but it echoed ever more strongly because of it.

The air was cold for a mere second, only to be replaced by a warm breeze. Although the scenery had a calming effect, it had an air of mystery. Of danger. The two players might have punched in other keywords to get somewhere else, only to find themselves in an empty city. As the players moved their feet, the crack in the concrete started to expand. The ground beneath the two began to rumble, the motions similar to an earth quake. With the ground ripping apart, the light within the stones began to brighten; it illuminated the walls. The arrow on the wall wasn't pointing north at all, but at a digital screen that had been broken. Patchouli and Uelle were a few feet away, the gap in the ground separating the two. Uelle stood closest to the area that exited out of the alleyway, while Patchouli was near the inner part, enclosed by the walls. Since the lights bounced every where, the players may get distracted.
But the monitor on the filfthy wall grew the brightest. A digital message flashed for the two players to see: Hello, Uelle! Hello, Patchouli! The greetings were exchanged, but the sender didn't give a name. The sender wasn't so polite. Was someone or something watching the two? Before the players could react, the board flashed in bright red:
I wouldn't touch that light if I were you~!
The crater in the ground created a bridge, placing the two apart. Now the light coming out of the pit in the ground appeared to pulsate, with specs of white dust – a harmful thing for something so beautiful. Perhaps the two weren't meant to be spit up like this, maybe they were. Patchouli would be unable to jump over the crater, the light was too tall – there was a separate alleyway that appeared to circle around the building to get to where Uelle was. There was also a ladder that lead up to a patio on Uelle side. They could choose to split up and meet later, or Uelle could cross the borders to get to Patchouli.
However, off in the distance – on Uelle's side – there was a shrill voice that screamed, “Oh! OH NO, HELP ME!” There was danger every where, Uelle could choose to pick what she saw with her eyes, or follow what she heard with her ears. From Patchouli's position, she would begin to see that clouds coming over the building she was closest too. Would Patchouli know that they would be shrouded in pitch dark soon, the moon hidden, thus stealing all the lights from the field within it?
Overview:
- crater expanded, the light emitting from it dangerous.
- the players are separate from one another.
- Patchouli can go off alone, Uelle can come to her through the ladder.
- Uelle can choose to help the person screaming.

Well now, it seems as if we're not alone. Not only is there one other person, but now we seem to have this... overlord type watching over us. We've been split up as well... and... Oh, this is such an odd situation. Normally we should split up, and cover as much ground as possible. But with the darkness coming in...
Patchouli turned to Uelle and called out. "Get over here. Quickly, quickly! We cannot afford to be separated now. Come over here, and we'll find out what to do from there. This situation... ugh..."
For some reason, she felt trapped... Wonder what's going to happen now...

Things started to happen spontaneously. The ground began to quiver, shaking her until she staggered against some wall and stuck there for balance. Her vision shook along with the tremors, but it didn’t matter that the image was fuzzy. She could clearly see the tear from before growing bigger and yawning out a different sort of light—it was eerily beautiful. The shadows revealed a giant screen simultaneously with a message and angry red letters racing across its screen. Was all this the cause of some player? Was it Nero? Uelle’s eyes widened, but it wasn’t clear if it was out of shock or disbelief. This just couldn’t be happening again.
But before she could get into a fit of denial, someone’s voice rose above the shaking ground. It wanted to help it seemed, but she couldn’t quite follow it. Get over? Get over where? She strained her eyes in search and spotted the player’s silhouette across from the large gap that separated them. And then there was a scream in the night. “Wha—But…! Someone just screamed for help.” She shouted back at Patchouli, tearing her eyes between the voice and the person at the other side of the wall of light considering which was more urgent. Her indecision was a futile thing. After all, she couldn't help being who she was. “I’ll be right back!” Was her response before she turned and shot for the one who called for help. She tottered along the way.

The clouds inched by, time appearing to slow down. Patchouli would be forced to watch as Uelle had dashed off in the opposite direction, further away. As Uelle dashed for the screaming player, she would be greeted to the city's opening. A long desolate road, left with abandoned cars – did that mean [The World] had cars once? Beneath the ethereal lighting, Uelle would be able to see a few broken lamps, the moon's light shining through them. Just distances ahead, Uelle would be able to see a figure with white hair lying on the concrete, her arms writhed forward as if she was in pain. There appeared to be no one around but the white haired girl. The light in the limps started to flicker, almost dim.
Patchouli now alone, had her own choices. Still in front of Patchouli were the beams of dangerous light, those seemingly appear to flicker as well. Did that mean Patchouli would be able to jump over it soon, rather than take the alleyway that went around the building? There wasn't time for her to decide just yet, the dark clouds blotted out the moon. As if a power outage, all the lights in the field were depleted. Given that human eyes were incapable of adjusting quickly to the darkness, the two players would be met with an indefinite blinding affect. In the darkness, Patchouli would feel something grasp her ankle. It was warm, almost wet – was it a hand? The thing in the dark grabbed at Patchouli harshly, yanking her in a direction to force her down. It was up to Patchouli to either use her arms to cushion the fall, or risk hitting her head. Other 'hands' were grabbing her arms, the direction of the pull hard to tell.
Uelle would see that in the darkness, she was lucky. The girl's hair flickered, appearing to offer a light. Those stretched out arms folded inward, so she turned, now in a crawl. But despite the light, Uelle would see that her eyes were bitch black, her nails as sharp as claws. The girl's jaw unclenched, displaying an enormous amount of fangs that looked unhealthily crooked. “HELP ME!” the girl jarred again, her long tongue folding lop sided out of her mouth. Then, the light within the girl's hair disappeared. Now Uelle was once again, forced to tango with the darkness. Would she feel fear now knowing that she alone, in the dark, with that thing.
In the dark, the screen near Patchouli shined: HA HA! The monitor gave enough space to show that Patchouli was being dragged toward the crevice in the ground, but it wasn't enough light to distinguish the figures grabbing at her.
Overview:
- clouds created a black out.
- Uelle is alone with a monster girl, in the dark.
- Patchouli is being dragged into the pit, by unidentifiable objects/persons.

Another yell... Was Uelle okay? It would be nice for Patchouli to go over and offer assistance... but the clouds have finally rolled in. The lights are gone, and they... ARE they safe? Do not trust the light of the moon, that is what they were told... But there is still so much still unknown in this pathetic city...
Suddenly, something had gripped Patchouli's leg. Warm, wet... Oh good Lord. Patchouli had tried to cast a spell, but without a target, all that existed was a blue ring underneath her. She needed to see what's grabbing her! Her arms broke the fall, preventing damage to her head, but Patchouli would quickly find that all of her limbs were now constricted. It's just like one of those god damn Japanese animes. Soon enough, a flash of light had appeared, and she knew locations. Bad, vague, unhelpful locations, but a good enough target for her spells nevertheless. The ring floated down a few feet until it turned red and faded.
"Ignite."
Fire should spontaneously appear from the spot and erupt in blue flame before quickly vanishing. That should happen 3 times. It's not exactly the strongest for damage, but it's very good for seeing what's going on... Hopefully this will at least free my hands. If I have my hands, I can continue blasting these damn things...

The voice—it stopped screaming. Was she too late? It shouldn’t be a surprise if she was. She was often powerless to stop many things from happening. It was a despairing, but familiar sentiment she’s learned to cope with. It was almost like touch and go now. You merely needed to acknowledge the feeling and then let it go, move on. But there was still the need to confirm her speculations.
She ran past street lights and city cars, through an abandoned road of shadows. The sky seemed to blacken with dark promise, but moonlight still lived through the road she had taken. Like it was lighting the path just for her, toward the victim in the night. And surely, after reaching a dimly lit crossway, she spotted a girl, white hair trailing down her writhing form, glowing like a ghost underneath the flickering lamp lights. Uelle didn’t hesitate in her approach, too engrossed in the possibility that she had not failed yet another being. “Hey! Are you ok? “ Her body was obviously in some form of pain. Uelle kneeled down, gently making her approach. The girl suddenly screamed, her face contorted with a jagged maw and pit-fall eyes. Startled by the unexpected, Uelle scrambled back up, almost falling backward, and took out her scythe just as the darkness overtook them and blocked out everything.
Startled, blinded, but not overcome, Uelle stood her ground and stuck out her weapon in front of her. I should have known! “Damn it, just come!” She yelled angrily. How was she supposed to tell player from monster apart? [The World] was a devious place!

As if the slimy hand-things were revolted by the spark of lights, they ceased for a moment. Like a pulse, they tried to reach forward for Patchouli again; thumping against her character. However, it was enough to loosen their hold on the female character. Between the ground and walls, everything started to light up again. The clouds were drifting away from the moon, exposing the position of Patchouli. Her body was half-way into the crevice in the alleyway, her arm hanging over the ledge. The movement of the clouds were unnatural, there wasn't enough time for Patchouli to escape the specs of white dust floating out from the ground. Just like the light, Patchouli's infected arm would glow like that ethereal light. The white dust didn't appear to be dust at all, but tiny gnats – the gnats began to seemingly chew on Patchouli's arm, but it was an extremely slow process. Patchouli would be able to notice the process, due to a black spec on her fingernail. She might assume that it was dirt, but if she attempted to scratch it off, she would notice she was only speeding up the process of 'decay'.
The arms did give Patchouli an advantage of positioning, she no longer had to take the long route to reach the main street of the empty downtown. They had drug her completely on the other side of the crevice. What was down there, exactly?
When Uelle got her defenses together, there were a pair of hands gripped her ankle – the hands were trailing up the girl's legs, to her thigh. Just before it could get any further, the insanely fast clouds gave light back to Uelle. She would find the monster girl had now released her, a few feet away from her. The white haired girl's head was craned back, her eyes wide as she stared up into the large moon. From this angle, she looked a little normal. But Uelle upon closer inspection would find the girl's neck was slightly caved in, as if a pair of invisible hands were crushing her throat. The girl's hands reached up to neck, as if trying to pry something off. In gurgles she choked out:
“I – AYE – I a-m, AIDA!” The voice didn't sound human, it was robotic. The girl's fingers finally got to her own neck, she used her nails to break into the flesh. Like peeling a coat apart, the girl was doing the same to her own body – to her long white neck; like the character was just a costume. A pair of red eyes glowed from the darkness of the girl's neck.
Overview:
- Patchouli is infected! What is it?
- HECK YES, I CAN SEE AGAIN!
- Patchouli can make it to Uelle now.
- Uelle must have went to a Halloween party.
